Four things you need to do to prepare your space before you buy paint from luxury paint shops in South Africa

Buying paint is only a part of the painting process – you can’t forget about the preparation! Some people may have a tendency to jump into the painting process without ensuring the preparation is taken care of first, but taking the proper precautions to protect the rooms you are painting will definitely pay off in the end. It will also help reduce your chances of making a mess!

Here are some things you should do before you buy paint from Warrior Paints:

  • Move all furniture into the centre of the room. Ideally, you want to move the furniture and everything else out of the room entirely, but if this isn’t possible simply move everything to the middle.
  • Before you start painting, turn off any air conditioning or heating systems.
  • If the walls you will be painting have any loose or flaky paint on them, sand the walls down first before applying any new coats of paint.
  • Fill any nail or screw holes with caulk.
  • Cover any electrical sockets with masking tape and turn off the electricity in the room if it’s possible.
  • Put down a protective floor covering. This can be large pieces of plastic, a tarp, or something similar.
