Got Mould? Here’s How to Make Your Walls Look as Good as New

Is your interior house paint starting to look a bit worse for wear thanks to the presence of persistent mould? Not only is mould unsightly, but it can be detrimental to your health as well. Luckily, with the right tools and know-how you will be able to remove it from your walls once and for all. This is what you need to know:

  • What You’ll Require

  • In order to eliminate the mould, you’ll need chlorine bleach, water, a stiff-bristled brush, two cloths and a dash of good old fashioned elbow grease.

  • How It’s Done

  • Begin by making a solution of chlorine bleach and water. Use one part bleach to 3 parts water and apply generously to the affected portions of the wall using one of your cloths. If you don’t have chlorine bleach on hand, you may also use a household detergent which contains bleach as one of its active ingredients. Next, use the stiff-bristled brush to scrub the mould away before rinsing well and drying with the other cloth.

  • Give Your Walls a Fresh Lick of Acrylic Paint

  • Once your walls are squeaky clean again, why not take things one step further and give them a new lick of acrylic paint to finish off? You’ll be amazed at how this extra touch will revive your home! Not sure how to go about choosing a paint colour? Why not experiment with something a little more daring this time around? Brighter, more vibrant colours are all the rage this year!
